Didn't expect Shaka Smart to struggle this much at Texas, I'm kind of worried at this point.

I went on New Year's day unexpectedly to the UTEP @ UTSA game and there is just something horribly wrong with this UTEP squad...Tim Floyd has clearly lost his team imo and I think he is done at seasons end. He had 2 young players transfer out at the end of last season, and Terry Winn left after being sent home from the Charleston Classic in November. Last year's leading scorer Lee Moore also decided not to come back after only a season at UTEP and went to play pro ball in China. Players have had enough of Coach Floyd and it's showing in the w/l record.

seems like for years, playing unranked home small favs or small dogs vs ranked road teams worked, then it stopped working and the road favs were cleaningup, now it seems to be working again

Miami -3.5 fits that tonight but I actually think that line is right. same with USC/Utah

I kind of like Montana State -2 vs North Dakota. Other than that its not a great card, may be a night for some ML parlays. UC Riverside looks tempting too.

Do the Buffs keep it close today vs UCLA?

Auburn beat Kentucky last season. I'm wondering if then revenge angle has the same level of meaning given most players are 1 and done.

    Interesting Stat:

SEC schools vs the top 25 teams per RPI have a combined record of 1-30....only win was Kentucky over North Carolina.

No. It absolutely does not. The UCLA game proved that. Kentucky gets up for certain teams....UNC comes to mind as these guys come to Ky to play against top competition in games like that. Louisville is another but it was an away game this year. I think you can expect Ky to lose more and more ATS in the next few weeks. The reason is two-fold. One, I really can't remember a year when Ky's game lines were not inflated like this year. They weren't esp. earlier this season. The second is more and more teams are starting to use Calipari's switching defense against him. UConn first started it in the 2014 NC game....Ollie ran his offense until he got his guards matched up against Ky's bigs and they just took it to the hole. The next season, Wisky did the same thing by running their offense until their bigs got matched up on Ky's guards. That game Wisky zeroed in on Booker. They got Decker matched up on Booker so much Calipari had to take him out. And I also remember realing freaking out when I saw Ulis guarding Frank Kaminsky. It was ridiculous. Coach Cal just wants to keep his defensive assignments simple for his freshmen so they don't have to think and teams are catching on. Louisville did it this year by getting Snider matched up against Adebayo a few times. Vandy even did it last week doing the same by getting LaChance matched up with Adebayo....that seems to be a weak link teams are beginning to exploit. Shutdown Ky's fast break and run your half-court offense until you get Adebayo matched up with a guard. Expect more and more of this as the season wears on....
